Pantone Announces Color of the Year for 2010

Pantone, the global authority on color (yep, there really is a color authority), has announced that TURQUOISE is the 2010 color of the year and describes it as an inviting, luminous hue. This is what they wrote in their press release:

Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing. Each year Stampin’ Up! has a collection of colors that follow the upcoming trends, called the In-Color collection. The Bermuda Bay from this year’s In-Color collection fits perfectly with Pantone’s Color of the Year—Turquoise. Notice how beautiful the ribbon below is with the white polka-dots.
