August Inkspired Tour

Bienvenidos and Welcome to the August issue of the Inkspired Tour.  Did you see the creations of my friend, Martha Gomez, on her site, Stamp Art Papel on the previous stop of the tour?

Be sure to look at the other blog tour stops from across the country and Puerto Rico, just click the button at the bottom of this post to go to the next blog.

I hope you enjoy my projects:

Owl Card
My first project to share with you this month is this Owl card (I’m sorry for the poor picture quality).

I love this punch, which is quite versatile.  Besides this cuter than cute owl, the punch can also be used to make a penguin, a tulip, and  much more.Owl card

 Amanda’s Stamp Pad Tips:

Owl card close up~The background texture is created using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

~The owl was punched once in each color:  Cherry cobbler, Old Olive and Very Vanilla.  Use the leftovers to create two more owls.

~Save Paper:  Punch the owl out of the center of the Cherry Cobbler Card Stock that is layered behind the Newsprint Designer Series Paper.

Amanda’s Stamp Pad Tips:
~This adorable little bear’s clothes were created using the new In-Colors, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.

~Do you see the cupcake on her card?  I used a marker to ink a single cupcake from the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set for the perfectly sized card.

 Thank You Hydrangea

This card is inspired by a card I received in a swap by my friend and fellow demonstrator, Abby Biringer

Amanda’s Stamp Pad Tips:
~Notice the stencil in the background—it is the vintage stencil and Crumb Cake classic ink.

~A great color combination is using the new colors Marina Mist, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.

Next up on the blog tour is Marcia Santiago and Stampin’ With Marcia where you will find a really cute 2-4-6-8 box, a great card and festive scrapbook page.

Hasta Luega, Amanda.

He liked it, he really liked it!

I made this card for my husband's birthday and he told me that he really liked it! It's one of the best feelings knowing that I hit the right mark with his card. I personalized the card for Josh with a chocolate cupcake and the color blue. Tip: Use the Top Notes Die for an easy and eye-catching background.

To make the cupcake chocolate I stamped then cut out the base of the cupcake in chocolate chip ink and card stock and layered the cut-out whisper white on top. And of course, a cupcake stamp isn't the same without a layer of chunky glitter added on top!

Have I mentioned how much I love the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set?

Amelia's Birthday Party Invitation

It was so much fun creating this girly invite for Amelia's 2nd Birthday! I used riding hood red, pink pirouette, chocolate chip, and whisper white cardstock. I also layered a piece of pink pirouette designer series paper: I punched one end with the scallop punch, then folded both edges up to show the pattern on the other side. I used markers to add color to the frosting, stand and cherry. The sparkles come from dabbing two-way glue, then sprinkling dazzling diamonds over the frosting.

This card reminds me of an ice cream scoop shoppe. I love the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set and Amelia loves cupcakes so this was an easy choice!

On the inside I used the Hugs and Wishes stamp set and the "for" is from another favorite set of mine All Holidays.

Happy Birthday Cards

These are cards I created for my brother and two sisters-in-law who recently had birthdays. I won't tell you how old they each turned :) All three cards were very quick to make, and now with the template created they would be even easier to duplicate. I personalize each of the envelopes using the coordinating color of Stampin' Write Markers to write the recipients name, then another coordinating marker to highlight the name.

This card was for my brother, Doug. Sometimes it's difficult to create manly cards and I don't have many stamps that I can use on a card for a man. I have found using patterned paper and a sentiment stamp can create a great manly look on cards. On this card I used Night of Navy and old olive cardstock, Urban Garden DSP, Night of Navy ink and the Birthday sentiment was from the Upsy Daisy stamp set.

This card was for my sister-in-law, Lealah. I used one of my new favorite stamp sets, Crazy for Cupcakes. I used Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and Pretty in Pink cardstocks; and Chocolate Chip and Not Quite Navy classic inks. The corners of the Baja Breeze and Pretty in Pink cardstock pieces are punched using the Ticket Corner Punch. I wrapped Baja Breeze striped ribbon around the card and under the cupcakes. I finished it off using a White Gel Pen highlighing the cupcake frosting--this adds a really nice pop to the cupcakes without a lot of work.

This is the card I made for my sister-in-law, Shannon. Again, I used the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set (did I mention that I love this set?). Cardstocks used were Real Red, Old Olive and Baja Breeze. The Designer Series Paper used was from Holiday Treasures. This beautiful paper can easily be used for Christmas, birthdays and many other things. I tied a chocolate chip ribbon around the card, and the image and sentiment are stamped with chocolate chip classic ink. I added a little color to the stamp using real red and pumpkin pie stampin' write markers.
