Convention Highlights

convention09 After getting some much needed sleep last night, I’m ready to share some highlights from the Stampin’ Up! Convention in Salt Lake City.

I had an amazing time!  There’s so much energy at convention, and it is a lot of fun to be around 3000 other women who are as in love with Stamping as I am.  Everyone has a smile on there face and is excited to share her swaps, project ideas and experiences with you.  It’s effortless to strike up a conversation with someone and I have instant friends wherever I turn.  I have seen some of the same faces year after year and I consider these ladies good friends, someone I could call or email and who would give me advice or commiserate with me.

One of the fun things we do at convention is wake up really early at “something-thirty” in the morning to be among the first to arrive so that we can run in and be in the first row.  And it worked—we were in the first row out of 3000 women!

This is the group of us that made it to the front each morning.  Back row: Tami Morkan (soon to launch blog), Lisa Vale, me, and Dina Anker.  Front row: Jackie Barfield and Mandy Grant.  Thanks to Tami and Dina for your sneaking each morning :).

I’ll be sharing lots more with you throughout the week, from convention announcements to upcoming specials to project samples.  But in the mean time, here are some more photos of friends from convention.convention bags

Each year, Stampin’ Up! gives convention attendees some type of bag.  This year it was this cute (and reversible!) canvas bag with a unique Stampin’ Up! image on it.  Isn’t is cute!   We also received FOUR stamp sets from the new catalog, a new wheel, a convention pin, a 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog…DSCN4543

Mandy & I in the front row waiting for the show to start.  We are wearing our new Stampin’ Up! hoodies, that are soooo cute and comfortable.

gathering place

The gathering place is loaded with card samples in every color, style and stamp set you can imagine.  This wall of cards is only one of about 6 walls.

It was nice to meet you at convention! You are so right about the instant friends every time you turn around.
